WoW Classic Priest Guide
The healer every group looks for first — and the only class whose race changes its spellbook.

Priests are the default Classic healer. Renew, Flash Heal, Greater Heal and Power Word: Shield cover every situation a group runs into, and the class has more raw healing throughput than anything else in vanilla. A group forming for a dungeon will look for a priest before it looks for anyone.
The class is also the one where race matters most. Each priest race gets its own spells — Dwarves get Fear Ward, Undead get Will of the Forsaken as a racial and Devouring Plague, Night Elves get Starshards, Trolls get Shadowguard. Fear Ward in particular is a raid-wide consideration, not a flavour pick.
Shadow is a real damage spec and it levels much faster than healing does, but a raid will ask you to heal. Discipline and Holy are what you respec into when it does.
Talent trees
A Priest spends 51 talent points by level 60 across three trees. Open any of them in the calculator, build what you want, and share the link.
Where to train a Priest in Classic
Every priest trainer in Classic, by zone. Coordinates come from the 1.12 game data, not from a present-day map: Cataclysm redrew several of these zones, and a modern percentage points at ground the Classic map does not contain.

Which races can play a Priest?
- AllianceHuman, Dwarf, Night Elf
- HordeUndead, Troll
Race is not cosmetic in Classic — racials like Will of the Forsaken, Stoneform and Fear Ward change how the class plays, particularly in PvP.
Strengths and weaknesses
What it is good at
- The strongest healing in the game
- Shields and dispels for everything a raid throws
- Shadow levels quickly and holds its own in PvP
What it struggles with
- Cloth armour, and no way to survive being hit
- Raids will expect you to heal, not do damage
- Mana runs out faster than any other healer
Professions for a Priest
Two that pay off, and why. Each links to its own route from 1 to 300 — the steps, the material total and where every trainer stands.
