World of Warcraft Items – Complete Database

All 1,423 items in the database, grouped by the profession that makes or gathers them. Each page states what the item is made of, what it is used for, and — where the game's own tables say so — which creatures drop it, who sells it and where it grows.

Where these numbers come from

Nothing here is copied from a wiki. Reagent lists, skill thresholds, drop chances and vendor prices are read out of the vmangos 1.12 world database and the Classic Era client's own data files, then checked: rebuilding the trainer roster from the server dump found 54 of 189 coordinates inherited from a wiki were wrong, mostly in the zones Cataclysm redrew.

Three arithmetic rules separate these figures from a naive read of the same tables. A zero drop chance inside a loot group means an equal share, not never — read literally, Raw Rockscale Cod never comes out of Faldir's Cove, where it is the main catch at 69.5%. A loot row is often a pointer to a shared table rather than an item. And both the item and spell tables hold a row per patch, which disagree; the latest is taken.

This is Classic Era — patch 1.12.1 content. Not retail, not Season of Discovery, and not a later Classic progression. Values that differ between versions are stated as 1.12 has them.

FAQ

  • Which version of WoW does this items database cover?

Classic Era only — the content of patch 1.12.1, as it stands on Blizzard's permanent Classic Era realms. It is not a retail database, and it does not cover Season of Discovery, Burning Crusade Classic or any later Classic progression. Where a value differs between versions, the 1.12 one is what you will read here.

  • What is actually in the database?

The crafting side of Classic: 1,423 items, of which 1,095 are recipes with full reagent lists. Herbs, ores, cloth, leather, meat, vials, dusts and essences, plus everything the eleven professions make from them. Equipment is covered separately by the gear planner, which holds 7,856 pieces with their drop sources.

  • Where do the numbers come from?

The vmangos 1.12 world database and the Classic Era client's own data files, not from wikis or other guide sites. Reagent lists, skill thresholds, drop chances, vendor prices and spawn locations are all read out of those tables. Rebuilding the trainer roster from the server dump found 54 of 189 coordinates inherited from a wiki were wrong.

  • Does an item page tell me where to get the item?

Where the game's tables say so, yes: which creatures drop it and how often, which merchants sell it and for how much, which beasts it is skinned from, which containers hold it, and — for herbs and ores — every zone it was recorded in, densest first. Enchanting materials state the band of gear that disenchants into them, because no creature drops a shard.

  • Why do some item pages have no source listed?

Because the loot, vendor, skinning and disenchant tables do not mention them, and no sentence is written to cover the gap. Quest rewards in particular are not modelled. An absent block means the tables are silent, not that the item cannot be obtained.

  • Is the database free to use?

Yes. Every item page, every profession guide and every tool on the site is free, with no account required to read anything. An account only stores your quiz progress and saved builds.
